As a Muslim, I’m sick of people asking me how I feel about 9/11. What do you want me to say, seriously?

Do you want me to say, “It was a great plan, mwahahaha!” before I fly off on a magic carpet?

I was born and raised in this country and was just as shocked as everyone else to learn there were people on this earth so vile as to commit such a horrific attack - or to even think about doing it.

But I didn’t do it. Neither did 99.999999999 percent of the roughly 1.5 billion people in the world who also call themselves Muslims. So why should I or any other Muslim apologize for what happened?

Nickleback is planning on releasing another album. Should I ask white people to apologize for that?

  1. I love animals.  There are very few I don’t like.  My favorite is the platypus.  
  2. My favorite thing about traveling is going to the airport and flying.  The sensation of taking off and landing is exhilarating
  3. One of my pet peeves is when people spread misinformation on purpose.  (If it’s done accidentally, I’ll still be annoyed but less so.)
  4. I love gaming and I consider the 3(DS) as one of the best gaming devices of all time.
  5. I was raised without religion and my personal philosophy is a blend of deism, agnosticism, and humanism.  
  6. I’m a member of the House Rabbit Society.  It only costed $25 to join and I love my pet rabbit so I was like, “why not?”.
  7. I wrote a lot when I was in middle school (mostly stories involving animals).  I’m planning to get back into writing over the summer.
  8. I have a substantial library of manga, comics, novels, etc. and I’m actually running out of bookshelf space for all of them.
  9. I used to play the electric guitar but I haven’t touched it in years.  Perhaps I’ll get an acoustic guitar and start playing again.
  10. I’ve never had a true paying job.  I’m too scared of being rejected and about screwing up.
